The Yapps

We are the Yapp family, church planters to Los Angeles. We are being sent out of Bible Baptist Church in Gardena, CA, and will be working together with CA4Christ as we begin preparing to plant a church in the city of Hawthorne. Please consider partnering with us as we endeavor to reach people with the gospel in Los Angeles. ​

It was at Bible college when the Lord began to burden our hearts for church planting in LA. This burden led us to begin working with a church planter and dear friend in the LA area, and would eventually lead us to Bible Baptist Church in Gardena where we have been serving for the last several years.

We believe the Lord would have us plant a church in Hawthorne, CA, a city with a population of nearly 89,000 people. This city has been coined the city of good neighbors as it borders eleven other cities and non incorporated areas in the South Bay region of Los Angeles. If you were to take Hawthorne and everything it borders, you would have a population totaling half a million people, and with over 90 languages spoken in this region, it is among the most ethnically diverse in all of Los Angeles. Please pray for us as we follow the Lord’s leading to plant a church in this needy part of LA.

Robert Yapp

Robbie grew up in a Christian home and was saved as a teen. After graduating high school, he immediately enrolled at West Coast Baptist College. It was at Bible college where he met his wife Sarah, and where the Lord began to burden his heart for church planting in Los Angeles. In his spare time he enjoys reading, sports, being outdoors, and most of all spending time with his family.

Sarah Yapp

Growing up Sarah occasionally attended church, but wasn’t saved until she was a young adult. While attending Heritage Baptist Church in Haslet, TX, the Lord burdened her heart to surrender to full-time ministry and to attend West Coast Baptist College. She has a passion to teach children the truths of the Bible, and to serve Christ in any capacity she can. In her spare time she enjoys baking, going to the beach, and watching movies with her husband.
